Multi-species Pasture Coaching Course
The South Gippsland Landcare Network will be running a multi-species pasture coaching course from October 2026 - October 2027.
This will follow on from a successful program that has run for the three years before. New participants are being sought for the 4th year and will join with the existing participants from years 1, 2 & 3.
Participants in the program will have the chance to:
Attend two training workshops and farm walks in spring and autumn with specialist Jade Killoran
Develop personalised plans for trialling multispecies on their farms
Compare successes and challenges with other farmers during online meetings and via a chat group
Join over 60 farmers from previous years, and be able to learn from their experiences.
“We saw an increase from 4 days grazing to 22 days grazing in the same 2.5-hectare area with a multispecies crop, compared to traditional pasture. ”
The first session is a field day scheduled in Hallston, VIC for the Monday 5th of October 2026. The following field days will be held in Feb/March 2027 (dates TBC).
Please note: participants will be responsible for all on ground components, including ordering and purchasing seed and undertaking paddock preparation and sowing works.
